Cocktail Notes || EP. 1 "Sugar", by Stanley Turrentine || Bermuda Yacht Club

In this new weekly video series, I will be playing solo guitar arrangements of jazz songs. The videos will also feature a cocktail recipe and a short video of me mixing the drink during my performance. Stick around to the end for the recipe card!

For this first video, I chose to play the jazz standard "Sugar". I picked this song because of the playful connection to all the candy that was to be consumed heading into Halloween. I paired it with the "Bermuda Yacht Club" cocktail. This cocktail is a riff on a classic daiquiri that features demerara rum. Demerara rum is made out of a specific sugar produced from sugarcane in Guyana. Combined with the falernum and lime, this cocktail was refreshing, deep, and spiced. Cheers!
